Max-4 poplar rods: pack of 25, 60 cm
The long cutting, for places where a 20 cm cutting would be smothered. Planted deeper and standing taller, a 60 cm rod reaches moisture faster and grows above the grass in its first season.
What the pack contains
- 25 rods of one-year-old wood, 60 cm long, with at least 4 buds per metre.
- Max-4 clone, a female hybrid of black poplar and Japanese poplar, admitted in the “tested” category of the German register of forest reproductive material.
- EU plant passport and supplier’s document with every delivery.
Uses
- Windbreaks and wooded strips along field margins.
- Planting in grassland or grassy ground without fine soil preparation.
- Filling gaps in an existing coppice.
Planting
- Depth: bury 40 to 45 cm of the rod, buds pointing up, in a hole made with a planting bar or auger.
- Spacing: we recommend 1 to 2 m along the row for a hedge.
- Season: from late March to May, in soil that has drained.
- Care: keep the grass clear around the plant in the first year (mulch or mowing).
Other formats: 22 cm Max-4 cuttings and H275 poplar cuttings.
