The Ultimate Biomass Crop for Farmers
Looking for a sustainable, high-return crop? Miscanthus x giganteus (often called Elephant Grass) is a sterile, non-invasive perennial grass that grows up to 4 meters high. It is the leading solution for farmers seeking to produce their own renewable energy or premium animal bedding.
🌱 Pre-order now for the 2026 planting season (April-May). Available in packs of 100 or Big Bags of 10,000 rhizomes.
Why plant Miscanthus Rhizomes?
Agribiomix selects vigorous rhizomes to ensure a high survival rate and rapid establishment. Once planted, this crop requires minimal maintenance and zero nitrogen fertilizer after the second year.
Biomass Energy: High calorific value for heating (biomass boilers) or biogas production.
Animal Bedding: 3x more absorbent than wheat straw, dust-free, and compostable (ideal for horses, poultry, and cattle).
Garden Mulch: Excellent water retention and weed suppression for horticulture.
Game Cover: Provides shelter for wildlife (pheasants, partridges) during winter.
Planting Guide for Maximum Yield
To ensure a successful plantation, follow these technical recommendations:
Soil Preparation: Deep plowing (15-20cm) in autumn to prepare a fine seedbed.
Planting Depth: Plant rhizomes 5-10 cm deep when soil temperature reaches 10°C (usually April/May).
Density: 15,000 to 20,000 rhizomes per hectare (approx. 1 plant every 0.75m).
Weed Control: Critical during the first year until the canopy closes.
Agribiomix supplies certified rhizomes from French nurseries. We support you with technical advice from planting to harvest.
